Top Quality Cryogenic Valves For Storage And Transportation
Cryogenic valves are used extensively in the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and industrial gas industries. These valves operate on trailers, air separation tanks and cryogenic static storage tanks that handle cryogenic gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, LNG and ethylene. The type of tank and valves used will depend on the volumes, the gas application and the media required. The valves should work reliably at very low temperatures without leaking or pressure loss.
In terms of cryogenic valves used in static storage, specialist fill valve assemblies incorporate cryogenic bottom fill functions in one unit. The safety release valves on these types of industrial gas systems are usually designed for pressures of up to 450psig. Various spindle lengths are available to cater for different tank designs and the stainless steel/bronze globe valves are interchangeable between two products in the case of the market leading products on the market today. In addition, diverter assemblies allow for fast changeover between relief valves when essential maintenance has to be performed. Three-piece ball valves are especially designed for cryogenic operation too. Lastly, bespoke manifold solutions are available for various tank types.
Cryogenic valves are also used on cryogenic trailers in the transport of cryogenic gases. Either union bonnet or bolted stainless steel glove valves are typically used. A variety of end fittings are normally offered, and the customer can select a flat seat or cone design if he or she prefers. Standard spindle lengths are used for ambient gas use and extended spindle lengths are offered for liquid service. Valves used for oxygen is degreased first and all the manufacturing materials are carefully selected to work reliably at cryogenic temperatures.
