A Range of Ultrasonic Flow Meters
The Instrumentation Division at BEP Bestobell, market leaders in the distribution of advanced engineering and technological products to Southern Africa, offers a wide range of process control equipment for flow, level, pressure and temperature. As any engineer knows, ultrasonic flow meters measure the velocity of a liquid through a pipe by using ultrasonic transducers. The results are variable depending on the temperature, density or viscosity of the liquid. Some meters are also able to measure the liquid level and this, with the pipe size, enables the correct calculation of the flow rate and total discharge involved.
There are usually three types of ultrasonic flow meters, namely: transmission (contra-propagating transit-time) of which there are in-line and clamp-on flow meters; reflection (Doppler) flow meters and open-channel flow meters. We house a broad range of flow meters to suit the requisite requirements of each client.
Our range of ultrasonic flow meters includes Ultraflux measurement equipment for portable, fixed and open channel applications. These are non-intrusive, clamp-on devices used to measure flow in pipes ranging from 10mm to 10,000mm in diameter with incredibly high accuracy. In fact, independently certified meters have achieved accuracies better than 0.1% of the actual flow. We also offer the Maddalena range of mechanical flow meters for both industrial and domestic applications. This is a robust range of flow meters suited to a wide variety of water quality, with pipe sizes ranging from 15mm to 500mm in diameter and pulse emitters being able to be fitted to the flow meters if necessary.
