A vast variety of sealing and insulation products is used by modern industry and one example where both types of products would be used is piping. Pipes may be called upon to transport a range of liquids and gases at various temperatures and they always have to be properly sealed – often they have to be effectively insulated too. Insulation material should exhibit very poor heat conductivity in order to do its job well of containing temperatures without conducting them.

Insulation Products
While some sealing and insulation products still make use of asbestos, this is being phased out and will in future be replaced with any or a combination of the other materials we use. In terms of effective insulation, the following products are very popular and effective:

Sealing Products
Sealing and insulation products can therefore be supplied in any format that suits your application best and you have particularly many options when it comes to sealing products. Sheeting products used for sealing gaskets can be supplied in sheets or ready-cut gaskets and these materials include:

Piping Systems
Piping systems make extensive use of sealing and insulation products and these products have to be tough and versatile, because of the varying conditions encountered in most piping installations. These installations can normally not be rigid and have to allow for expansion and contraction and other movements caused by the type of material transported. A positive seal has to be maintained at joints between different pipes and between pipes of different diameters. It may also be necessary to keep temperatures stable by insulating the piping to maintain the hot or cold state of the liquid or gas that is being transported.
